Ingredients

  • Greens

    • Lettuce, arugula, spinach, etc

  • Protein

    • Canned or smoked fish, chicken thigh, steak tips, bacon, pancetta, hard boiled eggs, leftovers

  • Vegetables

    • Cucumber, tomato, peppers, onion, shallot, cooked vegetables such as cauliflower, mushroom, sweet potato, zucchini, brussels sprouts, broccoli, pepper, squash

  • Crunch

    • Nuts or seeds

  • Herbs

    • Cilantro, dill

  • Fruit

    • Pomegranate

  • Creamy

    • Avocado, poached egg, soft boiled egg, mayo

  • Salt

Tips & Substitutions

  • Remember, this is a blueprint. This is just giving you ideas of how to make a great salad. Feel free to mix and match and use what you want.

  • Want to be full after eating your salad? Be sure to add a protein and at least one creamy element or nuts (both of which will increase the fat content of the dish).


Instructions:

  1. Chop up your ingredients as necessary to ensure that you have good-sized bites (don't for example chop up your pomegranate seeds if you are using them but you should probably chop up that cucumber).

  2. Mix it all together, dress it, and enjoy!
